I was inspired by another sketch via email. Today's is from Freshly Made Sketches by Jennifer Brum. I grabbed my Create Kindness Card Kit with a little Lagoon cardstock and some retired teal shimmer trim. Below is the FMS Sketch #253
Happy Labor Day! I hope your Labor Day weekend has been a wonderful and blessed one!
Don't you just love when inspiration hits? I know I certainly do! While walking on the treadmill this morning and checking emails, I saw the Mojo Monday Sketch by Julee Tilman and knew just what I was going to do with this sketch, get crafty with the September Stamp of the Month Stamp Set - Blessed Beyond Measure. Below is the Mojo Monday Sketch #464.
And here is the card I made for this sketch. I cut out and stamped the leaves with the intent to use them, but then changed my mind, so they are just a decorative accent, ha ha!
Below is the inside of the card, because we can't leave it blank! ;o)
I hope you like my creation and if the inspiration hits, play along with me and others over at Mojo Monday Blog! To purchase any of the products I used to create this card, just click on the item link below.
It's Saturday, first Saturday of College Football and my team lost :o( I'm bummed about their loss, but have been working on continuing to straighten up the mess that is my Craft Room with other games playing in the background. It's what we do around our home this time of the year, wake up with College GameDay and watch games all day long. Since I still have more of the Create Kindness card bases available from the 2nd batch I bought, why not create some more artwork! I grabbed the Make It From Your Heart, Volume 2 Book to scan through for sketch inspiration. First I saw Pattern 24 would work perfectly for a card or two, gotta use part from all 4 card bases right?!!
Next I scanned through the layout sketches in the book, I found that Pattern 15 would work nicely with these card bases as well. Here's my layout creation.
When searching my cardstock on which colors to use for both the layout and the cards, I was drawn to Peacock. I really like how it worked well on both! For the layout I also picked Pomegranate & Crystal Blue. I really like how the layout turned out! I hope you do also!

Happy Saturday! I'm back today with a couple more creations I made using the 'Create Kindness Card Kit'. In case you missed my 24 cards I made and shared with you yesterday, you can click HERE to see them. Today I'm sharing 2 double page layouts I created with this card kit. Wait - What?? Yes, you read that correctly, I made 2 double page layouts using components of the Create Kindness Card Kit! I have to tell you I started seeing fellow Consultant friends sharing their layouts on a Consultant only facebook page and knew I had to try to create my own too! First I searched the Make It From Your Heart, Volume 1 Book to see what sketch patterns might work with 3" x 3" card bases. I found a couple and grabbed a few cardstock sheets for the bases. Below are my creations, I hope you like them!
First is the Make It From Your Heart, Volume 1 - Pattern 7 sketch. The pattern calls for 1 1/2" x 8" strips, but I obviously adjusted to 1 1/2" x 6" to accommodate my 3" x 3" card bases. I cut the card base right down the middle to get my 1 1/2" x 6" strips, added in the 6" x 6" Pansy cardstock pieces and Lagoon cardstock for photo mats. I'm thinking of putting photos of my niece & nephew on these pages.
This layout is based on the Make It From Your Heart, Volume 1 - Pattern 4 sketch. This one calls for all 3" x 3" pieces, so cutting 3 of the different card design bases in half were perfect! I used Lagoon cardstock for the page bases, added in Pansy cardstock for the photo mats and used some of the new Jeepers Creepers washi tape and a few silver sequins. I also used the 'happy' & 'stars' Thin Cuts with Silver Glitter Paper for the title and accents. I'm not sure what photos I will use on this layout just yet, but I really like how it turned out!
I hope you enjoyed seeing my layouts creations from a card kit! To purchase any of the items used, please click on the items listed below.
Today I have my 'Create Kindness Card Kit' creations to share with you. Of course I started creating the cards as shown in the home office image shown above. Then I had to go a step further with my creations. I hope you enjoy seeing them below.
These 4 cards are pretty basic, hence the 'GOOD' label at the top of the photo. I used everything included in the kit to create a Smile, Friend, Love & Hello card.
Next on these 4 cards that I labeled 'BEST' (go with me here, I know these might not be the best you've ever seen, but I'm on a roll, see how it just keeps getting better ;o) Anyway, with these cards I pulled out the now retired Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the scalloped circles to place under the circle as well as adding some Shimmer Trim.
After creating with the included circle die cut cardstock pieces, I decided to cut some 2" x 2" squares from White Daisy Cardstock to use the other 4 sentiment stamp sets that are included with the kit. I also cut 2 1/4"x 2 1/4" pieces of cardstock using the new colors - Raspberry, Emerald, Pansy & Tangerine. I then grabbed a few embellishments, both current & retired to add a few more accents to the cards.
On this larger 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card, I grabbed my Make It From Your Heart, Volume 1 book to scan over the card designs to see if any might work with the 3x3 card base. I found that Pattern 27 would work nicely. I added some retired aqua shimmer trim, cut a larger Lemon cardstock circle and Pansy scalloped circle.
For this card I actually got the initial inspiration from a fellow Consultant & teammate April Dabelstein-Shepler. She shared some cards she made with us on our team page. Her card was in vertical orientation. As you can see I made mine with a horizontal orientation. The 3"x3" card base does not completely cover the standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card but the pieces that I trimmed off filled in the point nicely I think (can you see it?). I colored the image with ShinHan Markers, backed the circle with a Lemon cardstock scalloped circle and added 2 strips of retired aqua shimmer trim.
On this card I really just winged it by placing the green striped card base across the middle of the standard 4 1/2" x 5 1/2" card. Next I trimmed off the excess, added some retired green shimmer trim strips, added a Lemon cardstock circle & Raspberry scallop circle behind the 'HELLO' sentiment that had been colored with ShinHan Markers.
I hope you like my creations I've shared with you! Check back tomorrow to see a few more items I've created using this kit! If you would like to purchase any of the items used, please click on the links below.
